Black Swallow Living Soils Rice Hulls – 4Kg

Rice Hulls are a great way to add some aeration to compacted soil and soil mixes. They have a very high silica content, which is released to the soil over time as they break down.

Rice Hulls can also be used as a mulch layer although they are not recommended in windy areas as they can easily blow away. Many people really do like them for an aesthetically pleasing alternative to other mulch layers for their indoor house plants.

Application

Aeration: Most soil mixes aim for approximately 30% aeration by volume.

Mulch Layer: Apply a 1/4 to 1/2 inch layer to cover the bare soil on your favorite house plants. (Please note they are easily disturbed by waterings, but you can simply wait until they dry and correct or re-apply)

Equivalency Measurement- One cubic foot is about 8.74 lbs, or slightly over 1 lb per gallon.
